Rollepaal is a global operating company headquartered in the Netherlands, leading in manufacturing and marketing of pipe extrusion equipment for PVC and PO pipes. My job is to create explanatory video's and images for their site.
This graduation project explores customization possibilities for electric scooters. The goal was to develop a method that allows electric scooter manufacturer Ebretti to switch between different designs in a fast and cost effective manner.
To verify the flexibility of the method , three brands have been chosen to apply the customization method on. The figures show the finalized scooters for the three brands, with all customization options applied. These options are varying from the paint job and decals, to more rigorous options like the body panels located at the front and back.
This master course project is about disassembling a product, and analyzing the components; what their function is and how they are produced. The selected product is a kitchen appliance to process food.
For the master course Packaging Design, the goal was to develop a food and a non food product (and its package) for an existing brand. The brand Pringles was chosen. The package consists of two oval shaped cans, a dipping sauce tray and a plastic slide. The slide tries to solve the problem of taking out the chips at the bottom without getting your arm stuck or destroying the chips. The cans are opened, the slide is placed on top, then turned, after which the chips will slide down to an accessible area.
For the master course Desing and Emotion, an existing nut cracker was redesigned for a specific target group, in this case 'women'. The end product shows two figures that crack the nut when pressed together. The main idea is to make the figures embrace each other, which evokese a pleasant and safe feeling.
For this master course three given techniques needed to be used to tackle a selected problem. The three given techniques were photovoltaic (solar) cells, LED's and glass. The problem was that inexperienced mailmen of TNT post do not know their areas and routes, especially during the summer. To tackle this, a PDA like device is developed that shows how to get to an area and which steps need to be taken to deliver the mail more efficiently. To power the device, photovoltaic cells can be placed on either the bicycle bags or a retractable surface.
This section shows some work that has been made during the bachelor stage of the study. The first slide shows the bachelor assignment, which is a rotating playground aparatus that teaches children about centrifugal forces. This is achieved by the balls in the rails located in the middle, the faster it turns, the greater the deviation of the balls. The chairs are also on leaf springs, which gives the children a sense of the forces, because the chairs also deviate.
The second slide shows design with virtual reality, the goal was to create two chess pieces and place them in a scenery.
The third slide shows a flying camera developed for the future, the ball can be thrown in the air, after which the wings deploy. The camera is used for filming extreme sports.
On the fourth slide the basis of a manual kitchen appliance can be seen.
